PC (Windows XP) procedure to add a shortcut with a special Icon on your desktop (main screen on your PC after you log on).

This will use the OVHistory web site as an example.

1) Download or save the Icon graphic you want to use and know what folder it is stored in , file name should end with .ico (like OVHS-logo.ico).

2) Point with mouse to a background area on the desk top screen, right click the mouse.

3) Point to "New" on the pop up menu and then point to "Shortcut" and left click.

4) In the Create Shortcut Box, enter the location of the item. For the OVHistory web site enter the following:

http://www.OVHistory then click "Next"

5) Click on the white box, and replace the existing words by entering the name for the shortcut, suggest you enter OVHS, click on Finish

6) A new icon with the name you just entered will appear on your desktop. If you point to it and left click you will be taken to the web site you entered in step 4). To move it to a new location on the desktop, hold down left mouse button and drag to new location, release left mouse button.

7) To change the standard icon to a special icon, point to the icon and right click with the mouse, then left click on "Properties"

8) About in the center right, there is a box "Change Icon.." , left click on it.

9) Where it says Look for icons in this file:, left click on the "Browse" button and click on the green up arrow several times to get to the folder where your special icon is stored. Left click on the desired icon then click on "OK", then "OK" on next screen.

Your new special icon should have replaced the default icon.
