October 28-29th.  Oro ValleyArtsFest,  Riverfront Park.

Historical Society will have a Booth.  Volunteer now!

 

November 3rd.    Oro Valley Library Author’s Event “Oro Valley Rocks”

Historical Society will have a Table.  Volunteer now!

 

Area Events of Historical Interest

October 13^th  Friends of Kentucky Camp Annual Open House.

                     Kentucky Camp Historic Mining and Ranch Site,

                     Santa Rita Mountains.  10:00 – 4:00.

                     Tour the site, pan for gold, make adobes.

 

October 27^th Empire Ranch Round-up Open House, sponsored by

                     Empire Ranch Foundation and BLM.  Includes tours,

                     Ranching activities and crafts, wagon rides. 10:00 – 4:00.

 

These area events should be of particular interest to Society members because the places contain historic adobe structures that are being rehabilitated and restored for public use through a variety of partnerships.
